Y por fin... El Romanticismo

 Empezamos esta unidad con un autor enorme: L.V. Beethoven, que puede clasificarse como autor clásico o romántico dependiendo de la época de su vida. De hecho podríamos decir que es el primer autor romántico de la historia.

   En esta preciosa escena de la película Amor Inmortal se relata el estreno de su Novena Sinfonía, que fue sensacional por muchos motivos, quizás el más importante, la inclusión de un coro por primera vez en una gran sinfonía.

Romantic Period started at the beginning of 19th century and lasted until early 20th.

The main composers of this period are Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn.

  It is a period where the artist's emotions were expressed through music and arts. The artist himself and his feelings are for the first time in history in the center of his work.

   Orchestral great works like long symphonies were trendy at the time. Also piano music, which was intimate and personal.

   Beethoven 9th Symphony is one of his last works, written at the end of his life. It was an important breakthrough because it was much longer than usual at the time. Besides, it included a choir and solo singers for the first time in history.
